STEM Tower Challenges
What is STEM?
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education. We focus on these areas together not only because the skills and knowledge in each discipline are essential for student success, but also because these fields are deeply intertwined in the real world and in how students learn most effectively. STEM is an interdisciplinary and applied approach that is coupled with hands-on, problem-based learning.
Tower Challenge #1
Goal: Students will construct a tower that is at least 2 feet (24 inces) tall and can hold the weight of a small suffed animal using 100 index cards and 12 inches of tape.
Challenge Rules

You must use only the materials provided.

The tower must be free standingl It has to hold a stuffed animal and be at least 12 inches (2 feet) tall.

Your goal is to build a tower from 100 index cards and 12 inches of tape.

You must not use any other materials (other than scissors) to complete the challenge.

There are many different ways to complete this challenge. Be creative!
