ABOUT
WHAT IS CONLEY ACADEMY?
Students learn best when lessons match their interests and abilities. Studies have shown that in conventional classrooms many instructional tasks are not matched to students’ skill levels. The mission of Conley Academy is to help each student maximize his or her potential and meet the highest performance standards through a uniquely individualized learning program.
Blended Learning
Blended learning entails more than simply replacing class time with online course elements or supplementing an online course with face-to-face classtime. To be successful, the online and face-to-face modes need to be integrated by taking into account the learning objectives and the affordances of each mode and deliberately linking what occurs in each mode.
Flipping th Classroom
Flipping the classroom, or ‘inverted teaching’ is a response to the idea that class time can be used to engage students in learning through active learning techniques, rather than through delivering lectures alone. Flipping the classroom is the process of replacing traditional lectures with more student-centered learning strategies, such as active learning, discussions, problem-based learning, and other forms of group work and peer instruction. Content delivery is moved outside of the classroom, for example, through videos, or pre-class readings.
